What is the CCPA? #
This page applies to WebMaxy’s processing of personal information that is subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
The CCPA, similar to Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), provides California residents’ with certain rights related to their personal information.
CCPA covers for-profit organizations doing business in California that collect consumers’ personal information but contains minimum thresholds businesses need to meet for the law to apply. The CCPA also uses a different structure from GDPR for imposing fines for businesses that are not complying with CCPA.
The GDPR and the CCPA are distinct enough that companies with customers in both Europe and California need to examine how they treat their personal information in alignment with both pieces of legislation.
WebMaxy and CCPA #
As a privacy-centric company, WebMaxy is excited to see increased regulatory responsibility and better awareness for consumer privacy. In preparation for the CCPA, WebMaxy contracted a California based law firm to assess our processes, policies, and service.

Categories of Personal Information Processed under the CCPA #
The CCPA provides California residents with the right to know what categories of personal information a “business” has collected about them and whether a “business” disclosed that personal information for a business purpose (e.g., to a service provider) in the preceding twelve (12) months.
Under the CCPA, WebMaxy acts as a “business” of personal information we process when you visit www.webmaxy.com or when you make use of our software as a service (the “Software”) as our customer. However, WebMaxy does not act as a “business” of any personal information that we process on behalf of our customers via our customers’ use of the Software on their website(s) (“Customer Personal Information”). To the extent CCPA is applicable, the WebMaxy customer is the “business” of Customer Personal Information and WebMaxy is a “service provider” of Customer Personal Information.
